Driving directions to the ISF
ABOUT OUR HEADQUARTERS
The International Softball Federation is located in Plant City, Florida (USA), which is between Orlando and Tampa (closer to the latter). The 16,000 square foot facility sits on 76 acres of land, which also includes Plant City Stadium and the Randy L. Larson Softball Fourplex. Plant City Stadium was built in 1987 and seats almost seven thousand. It was the spring training home of Major League Baseball's Cincinnati Reds for ten years, with their departure making the ISF's relocation in 2000 from Oklahoma City to these facilities a perfect fit. The ISF staged the first-ever Junior Girls' World Cup (November, 2001) and Slow Pitch World Cup (June, 2002) at the facilities, where the plan is to continue to bring
international softball competition. ISF member national softball federations/associations have access to using this valuable resource for training. For instance, the Hellenic Amateur Softball Federation did that in August 2002 for North American tryouts for the 2004 Greek Olympic Team. (Also see note at bottom of page.)
Inside, a 1,500 square foot conference facility is adjacent to the ISF offices.
Umpire certification seminars, coaching clinics, ISF council and commission meetings, and other activities have taken place in the conference facility.
In addition, planning is underway on the facility at the ISF's world headquarters that will house the Hall of Fame for people from around the world to visit.
The long-term hope is to eventually have a facility built that will house attendees and instructors of various softball-related sessions.
The ISF is the only Olympic sport (summer and winter combined) whose international federation's headquarters is in the United States.
Plant City, Florida is the "winter strawberry capital of the world." Every year, hundreds of thousands of people come from near and far to the annual Strawberry Festival, held in late February or early March.
