NEW ISF RULE BOOK
2006-03-10
The definitive source for the sport’s regulations around the world, the 2006-2009 Official Rules of Softball publication will soon go on press. Expected to be more than 265 pages in length, the book will be printed in a combined English/Spanish “flip-over” format, containing the International Softball Federation’s (ISF) Technical Code, Playing Rules, and more.
Included in the Playing Rules section will be formatting to distinguish new rules since the 2002-2005 book was printed, so as to reflect changes made at the ISF Congress last October in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Done in consultation with ISF Director of Umpires Merle Butler, there are also detailed explanations, “Notes,” and “Effects” to aid in the reader’s interpretation of the numerous regulations that govern play in international softball.
The book’s initial pages include a message from ISF President Don Porter, a pictorial “Federation Officers” listing, and more.
Rule book orders via the ISF website are expected to be shipped to purchasers sometime next month. The online system welcomes PayPal customers, although those without such an account can pay as follows:
- by Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, or Discover as follows: choose PayPal as the method of payment and, upon receiving an Invoice Number/Order Total screen, click the PayPal PAY NOW button and select Secure Checkout from the screen that comes up
