ESTABLISHMENT AND ELECTION OF EXECUTIVE BOARD OF THE OCEANIA SOFTBALL CONFEDERATION

On August 2, 2005, nine of the thirteen member nations of Oceania’s National Olympic Committees and ISF Members met at the Palasia Hotel in Palau to establish the Oceania Softball Confederation.  This is comprised of ISF organizations in the northern and southern hemispheres.  Confederation members approved a constitution and elected officers and committee members to their executive board.  The Confederation’s objectives are to represent the interest of the member softball federations and to foster the development and participation in softball activities within the Oceania Region.

Charter officers and committee members are:

  1. President - Robert J STEFFY Sr., CPA, Guam Softball Association President and Guam NOC Secretary General/Treasurer
  2. Vice President North – Willy HAWLEY, FSM Softball Federation President
  3. Vice President South – Larry SANITOA, American Samoa Softball Federation Vice President
  4. Secretary – Susan CROW, Australia
  5. Treasurer – Tobias MARBOU, Palau
  6. Committee Members – Chris BAIS, Papua New Guinea

                                            Rex CAPIL, New Zealand

ISF members in attendance included American Samoa, Australia, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Guam, New Zealand, Palau, Papua New Guinea, and Solomon Islands.  Fiji and New Caledonia were also present.
