BOARD OF DIRECTORS SET
2006-06-07

The Costa Rica Softball Association (CRSA) has a new president. The International Softball Federation (ISF) has received word that Roberto Castro Arias is the new head of the national governing body in the Central American country.

Elections were held there at the beginning of last week, and as a result, their Board of Directors now consists of the following:

President: Roberto Castro Arias
Vice president: Leonel Uriza
Secretary General: Jose Calderon
Treasurer: Tomas Aleman
Spokesman: Luis Mesen
Finance: Victor Mesen

Costa Rica became an ISF Member in 1970. Three months ago, then-CRSA President Jorge Zeledon died suddenly at age 49, having been at the helm of their Association for eight years. The CRSA now moves forward with their new president and Board of Directors in place, and with softball development on the move in their country.

In March, the Costa Rican men’s team played at the 8th Central American Games (in Panama). Also in the first part of 2006, Mr. Castro visited the ISF world headquarters facility and helped facilitate an ISF equipment provision back to his country.
